Tortoises on Galapagos
Tortoises on Galapagos
Written by Daniel Henshaw
Us tortoises have toiled for many a century,At one with God’s fine planet.
Threat is rare,
But danger lies ahead.
We starve!
With lightning pace
Goats have gathered on Galapagos
And graze our grass and green.
For now we fail to find the foliage
We need.
But no!
Our God has has seen this problem,
He sends a cure to Earth.
A Demon Dark with wings that spin
Above it’s head at rapid speed
And make a mighty din.
It hovers right above, and takes
It’s time to choose.
But when the Demon claps it’s hands,
A BANG is heard throughout the lands.
And when the Demon claps it’s hands,
A goat falls to it’s death.
And when the Demon claps it’s hands,
A goat falls to it’s death.
But when the Demon claps it’s hands,
A tortoise never dies.
Thus now we have the plants we need
With fewer greedy goats.
But Spring comes round
Their numbers rise.
Our grass is gone again.
So Demon Dark returns to Earth,
It’s clear he knows a reptile’s worth.
