I am one of the first things you look at
In the morning.
I am greeted by a sigh, yet I tell you what
You want to know.

When you’re late for work it’s me
You turn to.
You never say a word, but just gaze
At my face.

Then you’re gone until your favourite show is
About to start.
You turn to me for approval, then
You’re gone again.

At night when you go to bed, it’s me you
Turn to once more.
With a smile you close your eyes, but I
Never stop work.

Then one day there comes a point
When my hands freeze.
Did you forget to change the battery.
I no longer exist.
